Buying a Scale

I want to get a scale for my friend, to help her keep track of her weight over the next few weeks. 

I really do think that if she can just maintain her weight, or increase it by even 1 percent every day, she will be able to beat this awful disease. 

I want to get this scale, based on the fact that I think this is the same brand I bought at Costco a few years ago, and it's a great scale. I tried finding one on craigslist but couldn't seem to find one that was cheaper than what I can find on Amazon. I did find someone willing to sell one for $10, but unfortunately it didn't work very well when I tested it out, so the guy just gave it to me for free (not really sure what to do with it now).
